K-8 Tutoring Built for Palmdale Families
How We Get Started
I begin by talking with parents to understand their child's specific challenges and goals, followed by an assessment to identify exactly where reading, writing, or math skills need support. From there, I build an individualized learning plan suited to the student's grade level and needs, and we schedule consistent sessions, online or in person, in Palmdale, Lancaster, or anywhere in the Antelope Valley. As sessions progress, I track each student's growth and share regular updates with parents, adjusting the plan as needed so every child keeps moving forward in reading, writing, and math.
Three Decades in the Classroom
My Approach to Teaching
My approach to teaching is grounded in the science of reading, with specialized training in IMSE and Wilson Orton-Gillingham methods. I start by understanding exactly where a student is, not where a generic grade-level curriculum assumes they should be, then build instruction around their specific strengths and gaps in reading, writing, or math. Using structured, multisensory techniques, I work especially well with students who struggle with phonics, fluency, or comprehension, tracking progress closely and sharing updates with parents so lessons adjust as a child grows. Whether I'm working with a K-8 student in Palmdale, Lancaster, the Antelope Valley, or live online from anywhere, my goal stays the same: teach in a way that makes sense to that child and build skills that last.
